You may have seen baking soda being used for cakes and doughnuts! But did you know that this can also be used for enhancing your beauty?

Baking soda is easily available in departmental stores and is extremely cheap. Here are some simple ways of adding baking soda to your beauty regime:

Deep cleaning the hair

If you are someone who uses styling products like gels, hair sprays and serums, then deep cleansing your hair is very important. All those products could actually build up on your scalp and cause excess sebum production. But not to worry, you do not have to change your regular shampoo for this. Simply add a teaspoon of baking soda to your shampoo (for one use) and cleanse your hair like you normally would.

This exfoliates the scalp and dissolves all the greasy product residue. Your hair will feel squeaky clean after a single use.

To this remedy once a week only or it could dry out your hair.

Removing blackheads

Blackheads and white heads can be quite difficult to remove. So when the pore cleansing masks and scrubs do not work, try baking soda. All you need to do is mix one parts of it with one part of water and mix it into a paste. Wet your face first and then use this paste to exfoliate the areas with the blackheads. Use this remedy twice a week to get rid of this acne completely!

Balancing oily skin

To balance oily skin, mix 3 tablespoons of baking soda with 2-3 tablespoons of water. Apply the paste onto your clean face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off using cold water.

Keep in mind that this remedy is only for oily skin. Baking soda could really dry out the pores and hence this remedy should only be used once a week.
