People often make the mistake of thinking that introverts are very delicate by nature. They are too sensitive. However, this is a myth. It is not that introverts cannot be sensitive, but not all of them are. Hence, when talking to them or cracking jokes with them, don’t be too careful. Your introvert friend will sense it. They don’t want you to change yourself and so you don’t have to hold back while talking all the time.
First of all, they do talk. Secondly, being an introvert is a part of their nature and personality. Asking them to explain their introversion at every point, puts them in an uncomfortable position. Not to mention, it is extremely annoying.
There are some introverts who are more comfortable with texting. But at the same time, do not expect them to respond to every message you send. Also don’t call them up randomly every day to talk about nothing concrete. Your introvert friend will probably have nothing to talk about. Engage in more face to face conversations.
This never works. However, extroverts think that alcohol can make anyone talk. This won’t happen. In fact, you might just scare your friend away! Introverts do talk when they feel the need to. You must not force them into doing things they don’t want to do.
Especially when you are in a group…..
It is simply not okay to make fun of their nature. Often times, extroverts just keep nagging the quiet person and then asking them the same question repeatedly – aap baat kyu nahi karte!
This kind of humour makes them uncomfortable.
