PURANA QUILA

As the name suggests, this is one of the oldest forts in Delhi. This fort was built by Sher Shah Suri. The fort also has 3 main gates: the Bara Darwaza, the Humayun gate and the Talaqi gate. There is also a mosque inside the purana qila and the numerous buildings inside it depicting Persian architecture. When tourists come to Delhi, they make sure to see this place.

LODI GARDENS

If you are looking for some place quite with just a few touches of the glorious past here and there, then you must visit the Lodi Gardens. The Lodi Gardens have four main monuments: Sheesh Gumbad, the Big Dome, Tomb of Mohammad Shah, and the Tomb of Sikander Shah. The place is visited not just by tourists but locals as well. Traces of history surrounded by immense greenery, help to make this place the perfect spot for peace lovers!

FEROZ SHAH KOTLA FORT

The Feroz Shah Kotla fort is enveloped in mystery and depth. If you haven’t heard before, let me tell you that this fort is known for the paranormal experiences it gives to the visitors. It was built by Feroz Shah Tughlaq in 1354. On Thursdays, this place is visited by the locals who offer prayers to the spirits. Several visitors and tourists have revealed feeling uneasy here and the place gives an eerie vibe once it begins to get dark.

QUTUB MINAR

Qutub minar is probably the most visited historical landmark in Delhi. Located within the huge Qutub complex, this minaret was made along with Quwwat-ul-Islam by Qutab-ud-din-Aibak. You will find several beautiful inscriptions in Arabic, carved out beautifully on the walls of the various monuments present in this complex.

HAUZ KHAS complex

The hauz khas complex consists of a mosque, a tomb and a water tank. The water tank was made during the reign of Alauddin Khilji. You can see it well preserved today as well. Located within the very popular hauz khas village, you can find several historical buildings which describe the time of the Delhi Sultanate and its rulers. You will be able to see several tourists here, as the place is surrounded with amazing restaurants and antique stores.
