World Humanitarian Day (WHD) is held every year on 19 August to pay tribute to aid workers who risk their lives in humanitarian service, and to rally support for people affected by crises worldwide.
2017 WHD campaign: #NotATarget
The theme for theWorld Humanitarian Day 2017 is #NotATarget. Struggle is taking a huge toll on individuals’ lives the world over. Caught in wars not of their making, a huge number of people are compelled to struggle or keep running for their lives. Kids are removed from school, families are dislodged from their homes, also wellbeing of social workers and help specialists—who hazard their lives to safeguard over individuals influenced by brutality—are increasingly being targeted. But the world is not doing enough to end their suffering.

This World Humanitarian Day, we come together in solidarity with the millions of people caught in armed conflict. Civilians are #NotATarget.
For WHD 2017, humanitarian partners are coming together to reaffirm that civilians caught in conflict are #NotATarget. Through a global online campaign featuring an innovative partnership with Facebook Live, together with events held around the world, we will raise our voices to advocate for the most vulnerable people in war zones, and demand that world leaders do everything in their power to protect civilians in conflict.
This battle takes after the UN Secretary-General’s provide details regarding the insurance of people in equipped clash, which was propelled not long ago.
